App Embed Activation
The app embed is responsible for loading the swatch component on your storefront. If it is not enabled, no swatches will be displayed on product pages or collection pages. On the dashboard, you will see an App embed status section with a badge that indicates the current state: Active (green), Inactive, or Action needed (yellow). Rubik Combined Listings is a Shopify app that allows merchants to group separate products and display them as variants of a single listing. Instead of creating traditional Shopify variants, you can visually connect individual products using image, color, button, or dropdown swatches on the storefront. For example, if the same t-shirt is sold in five different colors but each color exists as a separate product in Shopify, the app links them together and displays them as color swatches on the proFeaturedTheme Type Selection
Theme types ensure that swatches are injected into the correct DOM position for each theme. Since every Shopify theme has its own structure, selecting the correct theme type allows the app to accurately place swatches on product pages, product cards, quick views, search results, and other supported areas. App blocks offer an alternative way to control where swatches appear in your theme. They are especially useful for product card swatches, as they can improve performance and provide more precise placement. Inside the Manage app blocks modal, you will see an informational banner explaining that app blocks can be used to reposition widgets and optimize rendering. After installing the app from the Shopify App Store, there are two required steps before swatches appear on your storefront: Activate the app embed on your theme Create a product group to start displaying swatches The app includes a built-in Setup guide on the dashboard that walks you through these steps.
