Custom Image Upload

You can assign a dedicated custom image to each swatch. This image does not need to exist in the product media gallery and does not have to be the main product image. It can be any visual you want to use specifically for the swatch.

Custom images are managed through Shopify’s native metaobject editor under the rubik_swatch type, which stores the swatch image, category, and color data.

The custom image option becomes available after the product group is saved. In create mode, the button is disabled and shows a tooltip explaining that you can set a custom image after saving the group.

Inside the group table, the swatch thumbnail reflects priority in this order: custom image, color preview, then a plus icon if nothing is set.
